We have been using the iPad for my daughter in learning her words and commuincating with us and I wanted to see if others were doing this and if so..if you had any recommendations for apps to try?

We have been using the app from itunes Baby Speak and we really like this one - but I would really like to learn about other app ideas for toddlers learning to speak. ideas?

Hi Jennifer,

not sure if this is going to be applicable for you as I have a 4.5yo and 8mo and have an Android phone, so don't have access to the App store. However my eldest has had the most fun and engagement with apps made by Intellijoy: Kids ABC Phonics and Kids ABC Letters were great for learning letters, saying them and sounding with phonics, blending sounds to make words, etc. Then letter recognition, forming words, tracing letters. The list goes on :)

We haven't used in a while as he can read now. Intellijoy do a range, and he's also enjoyed the numbers and math, dot to dot, shapes and colour apps. He's outgrown them now, but every once in a while will play with them.

Haven't started apps with the youngest as we have wooden letter and number blocks which is great for dexterity and play too, plus he's already fascinated with phones as it is.

Hope you can find those or the equivalent in the App store.
