Beach Nut VS Gerber

My little guys is only 2 months old (1st child) so I have a while before he starts any stage 1 solids but I am trying to think ahead. I have grown up knowing Gerber, but I noticed a new brand (well new to me) called Beach Nut and I was wondering if any Mom's out there have tried it and if so what is your opinion? Thanks

my son is now 18 months and while he was on baby food we used both. It didn't seem to make a difference to him. I think it is just as good as gerber in my opinion. I know my friends with smaller children have used both as well.

Make your own! It is easy and WAY cheaper. Jarred baby food is a big scam and hard on the wallet. You don't even have to use a food mill or blender. Just cook til very soft and fork mash. If you are nursing, LLL (and I agree) says to hold off on introducing solidsuntil 8 months or more. I think I started when he was about 7 months though. Let your child get all the breastmilk they want. It's what they need! Check out "Naturally Delicious Melas for Babies" by Gerrie Hawes. Good luck!

I made my own baby food or used generic store brand. If you read the ingredients, most are exactly the same. When I did purchase jar food, I went with the brand that was cheaper.

I used both with my daughter. At the grocery store near my house they had Beach Nut in cases.I could buy a box of fruit and a box of veggies. All different flavors. It was a lot easier on my wallet.(just make sure that they like all the flavors that come in the box first) Just remember to start off with the veggies cause once they taste the fruit they wont go back.

I used both and my son liked both. I bought Beech Nut more often because it was more affordable and the stores I shopped carried more of a variety of it.

I used both with my son who is now 18 months old. I found at the store near me there were a lot different flavors with Gerber and not that many with Beech nut. Also I was able to find lots of coupons for Gerber and sign up for mailing list that sent me coupons for Gerber; not really with Beech nut. I am assuming that it is different depending on the area you live in. I dont think that one is better than the other. I think that you should use both.

My daughter is 18 months and we tried Gerber and we also used the Walmart generic brand here and there but she was a fussy baby about textures and veggie flavors at first and when we tried Beech Nut, it made everything so much easier. They have more variety of flavors and things like sweet peas for babies who are fussy about veggies and things like ham dinner and country breakfast. Just a great variety and their textures seem alot gentler. My daughter was so texture sensitive that she would literally gag on some of the gerber ones until I took a washcloth and made sure it was all off of her tongue. It's just as healthy, safe, cheaper and such a wide variety. Definately going to be using it with my son as well.
