Calling everyone daddy

So me and my ex have been separated for about 8 months. My son just turned two and had been seeing his dad Bout once. Month every since. He calls him daddy, recognizes his as daddy and has recently identified him as daddy on the phone. But for the last few months hell see random guy, during down the street, in the store ect. and ask "that daddy?" Or That daddy!!" And I don't understand why. The only others me figure he is around is his uncle Nd he knows that he's uncle, but no other males. So I'm wondering if he knows that "daddy" is his dad, or is that just a male to him? Makes me wonder if its doing more harm than good by seeing him. Please tell me what you think.

A lot of kids do this :) I would not be so worried. They hear other kids say daddy and they are only repeating what they hear. My 2 year old called her Grammie ( my mom) mom. It dawned on me that she hears me say "mom" :)

So I don't think there is a lot of emotion behind it. Our kids just say things they hear.
