Ever since my daughter was 3 months old, when she gets tired, she crosses her legs and tenses up like shes stretching. Sometimes she would lock up and fall over. She use to press her hands into her crossed legs and tense up and fall over... even if she hit her head it wouldnt phase her. She seems pretty alert but does it all the time. Recently, the last 2 months, instead of pressing her hands into her legs, she covers her nose and mouth sometimes grabbing her face while crossing her legs stretching. It mostly happens when shes tired or in the car just waking up. Ive recorded it because I was afraid it was neurological. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi, my daughter does a similar thing. She is now nearly 5 & has been doing it since she was newborn. We call it her 'leg thing': she lies down on her back, stretches her leg straight across in the air and pushes, holding her leg there for quite a long time, rests her legs on the ground for a few seconds then she starts over again. She will, at the same time play with the label on her teddy. We used to think it was from tiredness but now I think it's just become a habit. I wish we had put a stop to it when she was a baby as it has caused her problems with extreme thrush. We didn't realise until very recently that it was causing her thrush which played up everytime she had been doing her 'leg thing'. She has had the problem so bad that now I have to stay with her until she falls asleep otherwise she does her 'leg thing' for hours before going to sleep. Then this usually gives her a really bad case of thrush the next day. Now I'm thinking it's not thrush if she only gets it when she does her 'leg thing'.

My now 19 month old pinches her neck when she sucks on her fingers. She started doing this when she was about 5 months old, when she started to suck her fingers. She pinches the skin on her neck and she always has little red marks on her neck. I find this to be very strange, I don't know why she does it.
If you are very concerned about your daughter, you should talk with her doctor.
Kids are so weird.
