1st I'd like to start by saying I think this site is WONDERFUL!! I've been reading a lot of the posts and it feels soooooooo good to know there are other MOMS out there like me!! I have a question.............Looking for someone who may have been through this or someone who may know the answers?? I am starting school in the Spring. I want to major in Radiology and I was wondering if they will accept me into that program my being a methadone patient. (i sent an email to my advisor and just haven't heard from him yet). I can pass any drug or background test they throw my way, I just wonder how they will look @ it?? Anyone ever been in this type situation or know someone who has?? Got any advise??

Even if you managed to get into the school program, you may have a hurdle getting hired into the field. That is where you need to start asking. Call the HR departments of various places that employ radiology techs. You may get the answer that supercedes any answer of program advisor.

You do not have to tell anyone you take Methadone. You have every right to go to school. A lot of people take medications that are necessary for them. Methadone is a prescription medication that you and your doctor feel is helpful. If you need to take a drug test they check for illegal drugs, not prescriptions. Be proud you want to go back to school. Good luck
