Can you recommend a book for dealing with the terrible 2's?

My (almost) 2.5 yr old daughter is getting out of control! I need some resources, perhaps some books, to help us get through (and over) this period. She spits, yells, hits and just gets plain nasty sometimes. She can be the sweetest thing other times, although not as often since she's hit the 2's. My patience are nearly gone, any suggestions are so much appreciated - from the both of us!

1-2-3 Magic by Dr. Thomas Phelan will teach you positive discipline that you can use throughout her childhood. Good luck to you. I know it can be very frustrating.

"Happiest Toddler on the Block" by Doctor Karp.
You can youtube it as well. It sounds a little weird, but it actually has helped us.

Like Jennifer said 123 magic is good, it also comes in dvd, my son was having problems at school and the school ran a program based on his work... my mum also had problems with my brother and I psychologist recommended it to her.

"The power of a positive mom" really helped me out. I gave the book to my step-sister and I can't remember who the author is though.

I love super nanny, she's so good. We use the naughty spot but you have to take it extremely serious and do it every time of else it doesn't work. Watch her on the tv and then just do it, it's changed of lives completely
