My 16 moth old has started taking really bad tantrums. The problem is trying to change his nappy or changing his clothes he will not lie still. As soon as he knows this is going to happen he goes crazy. Ive tried distracting him but he just cries. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I hate shouting at him but i just get so frustrated with him

I would be very firm with him - if clothes need to be changed, there is not much choice. I heard from one mother that her toddler did same thing, so once when the clothes were off and her daughter run away screaming, mother just got up and started doing something else. 2 minutes later the kid came to her and told her she is cold, so the monther just said well, thats why we wear clothes, so we are warm. She put the clothes on and haven't had problems with dressing since. You could also try time out - at that age I think the best place is their crib since then they can't leave, but thats different for every family.

I am not really strict with many things, but when it comes to things that need to be done - like changing clothes - there is no choice there so I just get it done.
