My son has sensative skin and he had a persistant diaper rash. What ended up working for us was a strong perscription cream from our doctor. We had to go to the doctor twice, becuase the first cream she perscribed wasn't strong enough, but the 2nd time around we got a super-strong cream and it was a miracle - the rash literally went away within a couple hours of the first dose!! I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it right now but just ask your doctor for super-strength.

The doctor can also prescribe a diaper rash cream. My daughter had a bad diaper rash caused from diarrhea while teething and the doctor gave us a prescription that cleared it up the next day.

Use a washcloth and water only - no wipes - and let air dry (lots of air!). That always helps. Maybe a yeast infection (as noted above). Depending on his age it might also be too much juice (acidic) or reaction to food as well. I still give my 33 month old watered-down juice and didn't start juice for him until about 18 mo. (Just water & milk) Let us know how you make out!

Triple Paste was the only thing that worked on my daughter. It's the most expensive of all the creams, but after 3 days she was healed!

I use bepanthen ointment on my daughter & she hasn't got diaper rash since. There are so many products to choose from & what works for one baby may not for another. Once you find one that works for you it will go away.

The thing that always worked the best for my son is Aveeno diaper rash cream, but if creams don't work then he probably has a yeast infection(yes-boys get yeast infections too!) that calls for a prescription called Nystatin.
