Hello Ladies,

First time mom & new member here... Looking for a little advice! :)

My daughter just turned 18 months & we've had diaper rash before, but never this bad! A few of the kids at daycare came down with a stomach bug & my little one has the diarrhea portion of it... It has caused such a horrible rash. I just hate to even change her because she squirms & cries the entire time. We've been fighting this battle since last Thursday... So we're now on day #6. I've tried Butt Paste, Aquafor & A&D Ointment. I'm running out of options & it's not getting any better. On the upside, we have her 18 month check up tomorrow, so hopefully the doctor can shed some light on this for us. Tonight we're going to try a warm bath with baking soda to help with the redness & irritation. Any other advice would be more than welcome!

If you can find it, get SUDOCREM. It is the most wonderful ointment and works very quickly with diaper rash and regular burns. I don't leave my house without it EVER. A home remedy that also works miracles, is egg whites (true).

Corn starch does work ver well but if it doesnt ask your doctor for the compound solution of ointment its all of them mixed together

I don't think a warm bath will make her bottom feel better ;( Maybe slightly cool ( not cold) but if it's already irritated then cool will feel better. Luke warm really. But I agree with the corn starch comments. And no juice with citric if you're giving her any of that. But the doctor will help. Sorry I know it's sad to see such a bad rash ;(

CORN STARCH. I know it sounds crazy, but my son had the worst diaper rash, almost bleeding, and we tried everything and then finally tried just plain old corn starch and poof! It cleared it up in no time. I was amazed. Maybe it will work for you too. Good luck!

Thanks ladies! It was a mix of both diaper rash & yeast infection which is why nothing was completely working. He told me to buy some Monistat & apply it twice a day & then Aquaphor the other times after I'd completely dried it off. Worked like a charm! Completely gone now! Thank goodness!!

If nothing you've tried is working , you really should take your child to the doctor.
