You could try putting it in a little gift bag & explaining to her that the dummy fairy is coming to take it away in the night and leave her a gift in return because somebody else needs her dummy now she's a big girl, I think I've seen this being used on 'supernanny' worth a go :)

You start by as brittney has stated giving it to her only at nap and night times, then my sister gave me this great idea that has worked on all 4 of her children .... We had all little black ants in our house because of the food my daughter always dropped, so one day when my daughter couldnt find her dummy to go for a nap (she was almost 3 at this time) i had found it and quickly cut a litttle slit in it with the scissors and put it near where she had seen some ants. I showed her where it was she picked it up and put it in her mouth, she took it straight back out and said "whats wrong with my dummy?" I said the ants must have eaten it....? She tried to suck it again then pulled it out and said "yuck" i said well throw it in the bin (The trick is to get her to throw it away NOT you, its better for her to not see u throw away something of hers or it'll upset her more) so my daughter threw it in the bin. I praised her and called her a big girl then she went and layed down for her nap. Good luck hope it works for you too.

You could offer it only at certain times of the day or only at certain places, then it loses its appeal.
