I'm not yet possitive if my son is has autism but I'm starting to think it might be. We have appointments with doctors who are trying to find what is wrong.

He just doesn't seem to learn things as quickly

as he should.

Well I have an autistic 5year old but it's not certain that your child is autistic. Maybe just delayed and need some extra time learning it and you as a parent should be very consistent with whatever you want your child to learn.
There are some activities and checklists that you can search for and do a little check at home.

My daughter is 2 1/2, and was diagnosed with Autism in March of this year. He could be Autistic, or he could just have some delays....it is hard to say. There are checklists and interviews, and questions about his day to day life and activities that you will be asked about. It is a long rough road, but there are a lot of services out there for both. Just remember that whatever is going on, you are a good mother, it isn't your fault, and you are taking a vital first step, in searching for answers. I try to always make it a point to not treat my daughter differently just because she is Autistic. I make necessary adaptations, but I don't say "oh, she can't do that, she is Autistic", or "she has to do this because she is Autistic" you have to remember that this is your child, and they are the same as they have always been, and no diagnosis is going to change how you feel about them. Good Luck!

he could be developmentaly delayed. But my brother is autistic and i work with autism. The biggest thing you can remember is to treat him like you would if he wasnt. they are super super smart.
