Does anyone have tips for switching to sippy?

We are in the process of getting our 1-year-old off the bottle and onto the sippy cup, but he has thus far resisted. He doesn't mind drinking water from it, but he wants his bottles for milk. We do everything the same other than it being in a cup. Help!

Offer only cup with milk during the day. His milk intake will go down at first, but that is OK. It will pick back up as he gets more used to it. Do only 1 bottle for the day either right away in the morning or in the evening. If you are doing milk in the evening make sure you brush teeth after. As he starts to pick up on the cup during the day then take out the bottle. Then you can add other liquids back in. One thing to note is that the amount of milk he should be drinking is about 16 ounces a this is down from what he was when he was an infant. At 1 yrs old you want most of what he consumes to be through foods/solids. If it is a really hot day he may need more liquids though.
