Hi, just wondering if any of you would have any tips for baby eczema. My son is 13 months old and has had eczema for a while. We've tried many things, including changing our laundry detergent etc. The doctor has prescribed hydrocortisone but I'd rather stay away from that if possible. Are there any creams, soaps that have done the trick? Thanks!

Mine has suffered with it from about 3 months old there is a cream lotion that had no additives at all or fragrance called vanicream they have at Wal-Mart and most pharmacies u may have to ask at the counter for it because pharmacist sells it so might but be on shelf also there are soaps with no additives too but plain water is best. Sometimes eczema is caused by allergies or food sensitivities. Ours gets worse in summer from outdoor allergens. It's good to limit the steroid creams over time the body gets used to them and they become less affective

My daughter suffered from eczema last winter as well... I switched soap from Johnson n Johnson to cetaphil. I also lessen her baths during the winter months to every other day cause during the winter it gets worse... Hope this info helps. ..

Yeah Melissa I've read some scary things about steroid creams, how they thin out the skin over time etc.
