I am a stay at home mom for a 15 month old boy. I am always trying to find new ideas of fun things we can do together throughout the day. He is such a busy boy! We play outside a lot, read books, play with playdough, blocks, color...if he had it his way, we would spend the entire day outside. Does anyone have any other ideas of things to do?

Jennifer Rochelle...I really want to do crafts with my son, but I am not sure what kind of crafts a 15 mo (almost 16mo) old can do besides coloring and playdough. Do you remember any of the crafts that you did with your son when he was that age?

my son is 16 mos old and he is infatuated with trying to color by himself, he loves seeing the color go on the paper, and he really enjoys the mega blok legos, he's getting the hang of putting them together himself.....I think at this age they start to get alot of gratitude about doing things themselves.

Sounds like my son, especially the outside part! He is now three and still going... As he approached two I started looking for things at libraries or local toy stores like puppet shows, story times, or kids events. This got him out of the house, if not outside, and he really enjoyed the new and varied experiances. We were alos able to do a Little Gym class when he was about that age which was a GREAT energy outlet for him. At two we joined a playgroup and this was another great way of getting out and having a variety of things to do. It also helped in his socialization.

As far as at home besides some of the things you mentioned we would have music time with a favorite CD, a drum and some other little instruments. And I also planned a craft for each day, something specific that fit with the season or something we were working on learning. And then we have invested in a playscape, sandbox, and outside toys so that he canenjoy being outside without being bored! Enjoy these days though, as I said my son just turned three and well he doesn't always need me as a playmate anymore!

Thanks so much for all the great ideas! Puppet shows, and gym glasses sound like a lot of fun, and I will defineitely be looking into that. The coloring with pudding is a good idea too...I don't mind the messy part, I just want my little guy to have fun and learn! Again, thank you so much for your responses!
