Make the experience fun. Read to them before bed, have a cool night light, like Ana Taile said some music or play in the room before bedtime. When my husband and I put my son to bed we read him a book, he has a night light that projects stars. If he get out of bed its ok for a few minutes, if its more than 15-20min I go in and put him back to bed. Sometimes he cries but thats ok, unless he's screaming I don't go into the room. Eventually he gets tired and falls asleep. Sometimes he falls asleep on the floor lol and I just put him back on the bed :) hope that helps

Ok,I have 2 kids too. Girl 11mths and girl 3.5 yrs old.

To get them to sleep in the same room, first I let them play and jump before bed, turn on some music if you have to, gets them laughing and burning energy.

Then I put them both in their beds and I turn on the white noise, ocean sounds in the background, and it also has a projector with sheep and moons and stars, something for them to stare at.

Then lights off, projector on and sounds on and I sit in the middle of their room on the floor until they go to sleep, about 30 mins.

They complain, they get in and out of their beds, they cry, and I don't engage them, I just put them back in their beds, and I sit back down. They call my name, I say nothing unless they get loud. I do gesture with my arms and hands to lay down.

Then they get bored and fall asleep.

It takes practice and I started this last week. but every night the 30 mins turns in to the 20 mins and so on....

to get my oldest daughter to stop climbing over the gate, I raised it. I actually raised it too much and she climbed under it, so I had to get it just right! But I got it now....
