I have an 11 month old little boy. He will not drink out of a sippy cup at all. He will scream until I give him a bottle. I know he isnt to be broke yet. But my other children would at least try he will not even do so. I have to break him at 12 months per the doctor but I cant get him to even try to drink out of it with out a fight. Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know if this will help you, but my son had a lot of trouble at first. He hardly even transitioned to fast flow nipples on his bottles, and the Playtex sippy cups weren't working for him. Then someone gave me a sippy cup with a soft spout. Mine was Munchkin, which has a narrow middle, but Nuby also makes some with handles. Now that he is used to those, he'll take other sippy cups without a problem. I was concerned at 12 mo, but 2 months later he had completely gotten off the bottle. (The Avent spouts worked well too. You can just use it instead of a nipple in the bottle.)

I am going through a child custody battle and my little girl is 3yrs old my son is 2yrs old i got them both off the bottle recently so late because their father was responsible and took them away from me for sometime. but i started mine on sippy cups that have a soft nipple like the bottles then a month later i switch their sippy cups to the hard lids and they both are off bottles and are fine with sippy cups, regular cups, and cups with straws. at night sometimes but very rare my son will ask me for his sippy cup so i give him the ones with the hard lids.

my little one just turned 13 months, We just stopped using the bottle a few days ago, but she will only use a sippy cup with a straw. she had only been having 2 bottles a day for the last few months, so it was not too bad i just wish she would use a sippy cup without a straw.

Quoting Valerie:

I think the Nuby soft nipple bottles made the transition so much easier for my two! Wal-mart has them really cheap too!

I agree with Valerie.  I bought just about every different sippy cup when my son was that age, and it was the inexpensive Nuby cups at Walmart that worked the best.
