I hope your little girl is settling down now. Here is some advice from a retired teacher although my experience is with school age children. I hope it helps.

Have a positive, cheerful attitude yourself when dropping her off because she will be able to sense your fear and guilt. Make sure you say good bye but leave quickly. It can help to give her something of yours to look after for you e.g. a hankie or comb.

When you pick her up, make sure you show interest in anything she has made or can show you and ask what her favourite activity was. Spend some time with her doing something she enjoys so you can reconnect, no matter how much you want to get on with dinner! A shared book would be ideal.
