hi everyone! i am a single mom since september 2011 after then me and son moved 7 times already to different places ( houses and cities). i wonder how moving could affect my son. he is only 2 years and 9 months old.

No worries.... I was 21 with a 1year old and a newborn and move 23 times from 2007 to 2010... Weve been settled in now for 2.5 years and they don't remember ANY of it :)

He will be absolutely fine, moving only affects your child when they are taken away from strong friendships. Children are very resilient and bounce back. As long as mum is happy they are happy. I would reccomend that you settle down once your child is about 9 as this is when they start to bond with other children and have those friend through high school. Having a strong support group to tackle a new school is vital. My parents moved me three times in high school and I found it impossible to fit in due to the closeness of the groups. It took about a year to have a close friendship and then I was on the move again. I had a horrible time. I also moved a lot during primary school, this was no big deal, children are a lot more accepting at that age.

Your son at 2 is going to be fine, don't worry about it. There will be no lasting affects.

thanks so much louise! i feel a lot better reading your reply. it really bothers me a lot since we will be moving again end of this month. right now we lived with my auntie and uncle and next theres just gonna be me and him and a baby coming by end of august. i am always praying he copes with all the moving here and there.
