How can I break my 3 year old son of wanting to be held?

Anytime my son and I go anywhere, he wants to be held. He REFUSES to walk into any store, or any house, even our families houses. He wants to be put straight in a buggy or stroller, and will not even walk to go get one, he just starts screaming bloody murder in the middle of the parking lot or wherever we are. He just always says "I can't walk" in the whiniest voice ever. He really is becoming whinier and whinier by the day! I want to know how to break him of this. Now while we are at home, he is EXCELLENT. Barely ever a peep out of him because he's playing in his room. But anytime we go to the store or wherever he immediately says "I can't walk, hold me, I want a buggy" while whining. Please help! Does anyone else have this problem?? I CANNOT be pregnant holding this child forever!

my dd does that sometimes but i tell her: i can't, you're getting too big but i will give you a hug and a few cuddles. then i just keep on walking while holding her hand. i also use distraction tactics

to make it easier, i never bring a stroller if we're out running errands and the only time i bring a wagon or stroller is if we're out for the day.
