How Do I Get my 1.5 year old to stop throwing things

He throws everything with the intention of aiming somewhere. Sometimes its his way of expressing his frustration, but when he focuses so intently before throwing, I know its intentional. No matter how many times I tell him No, it just doesn't seem like he's getting it. Any advice to give?

If he is throwing everything, then don't put anything in his hands. For example, when my son started to throw things, I would tell him, "No, don't do that." If he continued, I wouldn't put it back in his possession even when he asked for it. I would use the "3 strikes" rule.

We would try again later in the day. If he played nicely with his toy (or whatever), I would praise him and allow him to continue. If he started to throw it, I would repeat what I did above.

Tedious, but they do get it. When I took away his "toy," he would cry and use that to get his toy back. Just ignore it and go about your business.

Hope that helps. Good luck!
