Depends on if he is ready or not. If he is showing interest and signs he is ready then I would start. If he is not then don't push it. Do you have a potty chair for him to sit on in the bathroom? Has he sat on it before? If you do not have one get one and just leave it in the bathroom. When you go to the bathroom if he is with you allow him to sit on it....but don't force....right now it is just introducing. As he gets use to it then start having him sit on it before bath time.....then in the morning when he wakes up and at night before he goes to bed. Again don't force. It is not important if he goes or are just introducing it. As time goes on and he starts to be dry after his naps or wakes up dry in the morning then start to have him try more oftern to go to the bathroom.....this is when he is ready for training.

If he is not ready don't push will only backfire on you and you will be stuck trying to potty train a 4 yr old.
