My two year old is learning through our influence. She sees us pray and give thanks, we say grace, we read the children's Bible to her and listen only to Christian music. we have surrounded all of our children with the Lord everyday. They are learning through this. They also watch Veggie tales which makes learning about God fun.

Sunday school is great, but if you aren't a regular church goer, then books will do the trick. Find a christain book store and buy a kids bible, or a book full of bible stories. Pray every night or every meal (whatever you are comfortable with. Esposure to it is really the only way to teach about God. It doesn't really matter what exposure as long as it follows what you believe. We have a toddler bible and a kids bible stories book. But I want to get more for her growing library of books.

My daughter is only two but we have had some recent losses so she's been around when we talk. So we figured it was time. Mostly we are showing her pictures from books, etc. but i think that at her age it's hard for her to understand something that she can't see. We were discussing Heaven and she said that we should go there on vacation in a plane. She doesn't understand the concept of death but she knows that grandpa is in Heaven with the Angels and God and that we can't "see" him anymore. but she talks to him at bedtime as best as a two year old can. When she marvels at something (a butterfly or flower) we tell her that God made that. and engage her in the conversation ("didn't He do a good job? etc) She still doesn't quite grasp it but i think it's a start. hope this might help. :)

We pray with our 2 year old & give thanks for things like friends or the sunshine, etc & explain that God made these things.

When I was little my Mom used to take me to Sunday School and I loved it!  I also used to go to Vacation Bible School in the summer.  I think it was a two week program from morning to mid afternoon...kinda like little kid bible camp.  I don't go to church anymore, but I firmly believe that the best lessons I learned about God and morals came from those two things.  Also, have you ever heard of Veggie Tales?  Those are the cutest cartoons and basically, it's bible stories told by vegetables.  Enough to catch your child's attention and at the end, there's a moral.  But honestly, I think the best way for any child to learn about God is to learn it from their parent(s).  Like I said earlier, we don't go to church but we are teaching our 18 month old to say prayers and hopefully he will see God and learn from the goodness in us.

My sister in law sends my 4yr. old nephew to a preschool program called wee collage. They do all sorts of diffrent activites with the kids at there level to teach them, He's constantly showing me the diffrent projects he made at wee collage he really seems to enjoy it. I don't know if they have them where your from, I'm in Canada so it might be something to look into.
