How to get 3 year old twins to play in their room

I have 3 year old twins and they seem to have a need to be with me constantly. If I am doing dishes, then they want to be at my feet whining for my attention. I can't sit down down without them crawling all over me and fighting with each other about who is going to sit on my lap. I know I am a working mom and they miss me (I miss them too) and I always spend quality time with them every day, but I also need time to do a few things around the house or a few minutes of peace to calm my nerves. I try to get them to play with their toys in their room for a few minutes, but they end up running out every minute because they are fighting over a toy or they want to show me something. I just want them to be able to play together in their room periodically without me. Am I asking for too much? How do I get this to happen?

I can perfectly understand your problem! I let me kids play in the garden lot, they enjoy making a mess! Also when I need to do some house work I ask for their 'help'. Another thing that works great is 'dance parties; - they love to jump and 'sing' to their favorite nursery rhymes! Here is our recent 'hit, if you have young kids you should check out these guys!
