My oldest daugter didn't sleep through the night until she was 15 months old, once I weaned her, and my youngest will be a year soon and seems ro be following the same path. I think I've done better the second time around by making sure I go to bed when she does, even if it's 9:00!

My twin girls slept through the night at 6 months. That lasted for a month and then they were up once or twice a night til 14 months. My 13 month old son is usually up once or twice a night. He's never slept through the night yet.

What are you considering to be sleeping through the night? I don't call it that unless they are sleeping 10-12 hours straight. Some 4 month olds CAN do it. Typically when they are around 13 pounds they don't 'need' to eat during the night, but at only 4 months old I still wouldn't rush it. Your baby will grow up all too fast. :)

This no time limit on a baby. Have patience and the baby will sleep through the night. It took my daughter till she was 7 months old to sleep through the night and she is 19 months now. Adding solid food did not work for my daughter, in my opinion nothing worked to make her sleep through the night it was what worked for her, she did it on her own.

My son is 16 months old and still does not sleep through the night most nights. My friend has a 2.5 year old who has only started to sleep through the night about 2 months ago. Granted, those may be extremes, but your baby may be one of those that need a little more time too.

It may be too early. Every baby is different. Things may change soon when you start him on solid foods. Have you given him rice cereal yet? That helped keep my son full through the night.
