My boyfriend is a great guy, and has been there for me and my son for whatever we need. He is not the father of my son, and sometimes he makes me soo stressed out. He has been in my sons life for a little over a year now, my son will be 5 next month. When we first started dating they had a great relationship, now it is different. I think some days my son would much rather not have him around, which breaks my heart. The things he yells at my son for are crazy sometimes, and I feel some days he just barks orders at him all day long. When I but in to try and get him to stop, or lighten up a little he always has a reason behind it and seems to get mad at me a little. I have talked to him about this before and he seems to calm down for a couple of days and is right back to it.. I feel like he forgets my son is 5 and not 16. He doesn't have any kids of his own. He also most of the time says things to my son before I can even get anything out, and this drives me crazy... Any advice would be wonderful!

I will put my neck out here and say it - this doesn't sound good. From what you wrote it sounds like your boyfriend is not a good fit to your son. And therefore, the question is - can he be a good fit to you? The advice Michelle gave you is great, I'd try it out first and see how it goes. Talk to him about why is he behaving in such a way to your son as well. But in the end of the day, your son needs you to provide stable and comfortable environment for him, so something should change.

Seeing as though he is just the boyfriend and not your husband I would sit him down and explain to him that you love him but you don't love how he is parenting your child. Then let him know that disciplining and raising your child is your job and if he can't do things your way then he needs to step back and let you do your job.
