i need help. i am having problems getting my 4 year old to go to bed. some nights she will go to sleep around 8 or 9 at night but most nights she fights sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. i have tried everything i could link of from relaxing music to bedtime stories and nothing works. we do the same routine everynight which is a bath at 7 and then its sprout until 8 and then a story. i just dont know what i can do to help her to fall asleep in stead of fighting it like she does. when she fights sleep she fights it. she will run around the appartment will bounce on beds will ask for ice pops she will bang toys on any and everything and she will climb on everything. is there anything i can do to get her to go to sleep?

Not necessarily. If you suspect ADHD, cut out fruit snacks if you give them to her and ANY dyes. Like Red dye, Yellow Dye, read the labels. High fructose corn syrup, anything like that.

When shes not at daycare we are either at the park or at her nans house so she can run all over the yard and play on the swings. thanks for the comments.

I agree with Katherine, I don't allow my son to watch any kid programs, because they do stimulate them. I will either turn the TV off, or change it to a news channel, something that does not interest him. Also, if you can take her outside and give her some exercise where she can run around and get tired that will help too.

she gets up around 730 or 800 most days unless shes sick or if its raining. she does take a nap but thats only on the days she is at her daycare other wise she is on the go without any sign of stopping. heres the thing shell be on a good routine for a couple of months and then for whatever reason she will go and change it and no matter how hard i try i cant get her to stay with the same routine.and yes she has a lot of energy if her eyes are open then she is constintaly moving there is no sitting still for her.

You poor thing. She has a lot of energy! How late does she sleep in? Is her schedule wacky because of it? Does she take a nap at all?

Maybe try to cut out the TV? That overly stimulates them right before bedtime. I also used to give my daughter Melatonin, which is an all natural sleep aid. I don't know how you feel about that, but it works wonders.
