i have a 21 month old extremely active son. We go alot of places, and some places aren't so child friendly or don't have alot of his age appropriate toys (like his grandmother's houses), so I decided to get him a back pack and have a sort of "play bag" to take with him everywhere we go to keep him busy. Besides some matchbox cars, a stuffed animal or two, a coloring book and crayons, and some play dough, what are some other ideas to pack in the bag??

My son loves stickers, we often take a little sticker book and a sheet of stickers with.

These are expensive but we bought an iPad for our my and my husbands use but our children slowly took it over. I downloaded learning apps and every once in a while I let her watch a movie on it. It definitely makes it easier to take her places. Or your cell phone, I did the same thing, download apps and she can watch movies. Or there are hand held games like leapster which my daughter has one, they are much cheaper and you can buy different games and they do come with a game already. It helps her with memory, sensory skills and she has come a long way with those learning games. We downloaded the abc mouse.com app.
