My 17 month old son has recently started banging his head on the floor or wall when he gets angry. This started the same week he began to cut molars. He has always been such an easy, laid-back baby, but since he has started cutting these molars, he has been a little terror!! I give him some tylenol when they seem to be bothering him the most. But is it normal for him to bang his head like this when he throws a fit? And how should handle it?

My daughter did it too, scared me at first. I just moved her away from anything that could hurt her and let her have her tantrums though. She needed to get out the frustration, and I needed her not to get hurt. It didn't last too long, maybe 2 months.

When they get to the biting stage it gets harder, because watching them bite themselves is painful! And there is no "softer place" that you can move them to, but that too will pass.

my kids did, I just moved them to a carpeted area. They grew out of it. Even if you can't move them to a softer spot, they're probably okay.
