Hi there fellow Moms! I have a question to ask. My 14 month old baby has recently started to gag himself and make himself throw up. This worries me,but apparently,my baby finds it so funny and laughs when he does this. Is this normal behavior?

Thats normal behavior ,your little one will grow out of it. It's just there way of learning.

LoL yes, my girls do it too. I guess it's apart of their personalities. They like laughing at things that other ppl find strange.

Yeah... both my kids did that at around the same age as your son. It was a little freaky the first time my eldest starting doing it. They didn't do it to the point where they vomited from it but they'd gag themselves. It's just a phase and they're just learning how their bodies function. It's best not to give him a reaction and as little attention for it as you can so that you don't encourage the behaviour. That way he'll quickly learn that it doesn't exactly feel very nice.

There are two things he is doing here. Putting his fingers down his throat is getting a reaction from you. Also it is a strange sensation. If you ignore him as much as you can and try not to jump up and react he will stop. It is just a phase. Also check his gums as children put there fingers down there throat when they have pain in their mouth.

Yes it's pretty normal. My kids never did it but I've seen quite a few posts asking about it. Toddlers are all about exploring and discovering so your little one has discovered that when he sticks his fingers down his throat he can make his food come back up. As with any phase if you want it to pass quickly try not to react to it, because the more attention he gets for it the longer it's going to last!
