Moving boys into the same room

Due to the crappy economy, my mom is unemployed and is going to have to move in with me and my family. To do this, we are going to have to move Andrew, my 15 month old son into Garick, my 5 yo son's room. Andrew is not ready to be out of his crib and Garick is pretty upset about losing his own room. I'm looking for advice on how to do this smoothly. They go to bed at different times, they get up at different times and Andrew is a really light sleeper. Garick is going to move some of his things out of the room so we can move Andrew's in and he's really not happy about that. I'm really worried about how this is all going to work. We have about a month before this happens. Any thoughts from moms who have kids sharing a room?

Thanks! Jamie

Hi there. My 3 daughters all share a room. Ages 5, 3 and 21 months. I have found that it is really important that they each have their own space within the room. For example no one is allowed on their beds except them unless they give them permission. It is so important for kids to have their own space. It isn't much but it helps. As far as bedtimes go, I am not sure since mine have always went to bed at the same time as each other. Do you have a play pen? Maybe Andrew could nap in that in your bedroom, so Garick isn't banned from his room at naptime :) Kids adjust quickly, so try not to worry to much it might be a challenge for a few days but they will get used to it!
