My 13 month old will only walk on her knees. She occasionally will use her walkers but falls after just a few steps. SHe does walk on her tippy toes a lot when she cruises. Can something be wrong?

No there is nothing wrong. My daughter did not start walking until she was 14 months and then she just got up and walked. My son was 17 months when he started to walk upright and my youngest son was only 9 months when he started pulling himself up and walking holding onto the furniture. Every child is different. Just hold her hands and walk with her to strengthen her legs. It may be her ankle muscles are not developed enough yet to support her weight. There is no need to worry just yet.

hi Yvonne
i'm a newbey on here so hello, i had the same problem with my son and yes it can be a problem but one you can fix. i had my g.p refer me to a pediatrition they check him out and then refer me to a orth surgeon which confirmed my suspitions. they told me that his achilles tendons were too short and they put him in plaster cast for a few weeks and now he walks normally and he is so much happier for it. Everyone i spoke to told me it was normal and to wait till his 2 1/2 before asking but i refused. it does hurt to ask. i asked 2 other gp and they told me to wait so not all gp's are right either, i made it clear that i wouldn't leave the doctors surgery until i had a referal. mothers know best i say and it doesn't hurt too check and ask.
There's a difference learning to walk and wanting but cant walk. let me know if this has been helpful
