My 2 year old son will not let us help him brush his teeth. Any suggestions?

my son hated it and it was so hard to get him to let me do it, but if i let him brush my teeth, hell let me brush his. that might help.

Yes, what Amy said. Loud obnoxious singing, but in our house it's "old macdonald" and my son gets to pick what lives on the farm and it's sometimes a challenge to imagine what sort of noise whatever he picks would make, so the other adult hangs around to laugh at whoever is stuck making vacuum cleaner noises, etc. Because we find it amusing, my son is less miserable about the whole thing, too. My husband or I brush for two verses, and then my son brushes his own teeth for another verse. Until just recently he had to be pinned down so that it would work.

Sometimes he just is not in the mood and cries, so then I just do it fast and get it over with.

like Amy said try the song if not see if he will let you brush his if he brushes yours, tom learnt to brush his teeth by brushing mine while i did his now he does his own fine but still lets me do the final check and missed bits, also depending if he has all his teeth or not i gave tom his tooth brush as his back molars were. still are coming thru and he loves chomping on the brush if they are bothering him good luck :)

I sing the alphabet while brushing my daughters teeth. I actually change up the way I sing it every single time but it's quite obnoxious and loud so she finds it funny and it holds her attention long enough for me to brush her teeth.
