My 26 month old hits himself

Hello moms! I have a concern with my little guy. When he is frustrated or sometimes told no he will sometimes hit his head on the floor/wall or with his hands?! We do not spank in our household and he is not in a day home. I have no idea where he got this from or if this is just a normal phase? It sometimes scares me because he will leave a mark/bruise on his forehead. I find it very upsetting. I am wondering if anyone else has been through this and if you have any recommendations! Thank you :)

I think that with some babies it is normal. My daughter did it when she was a baby. It scared me to death but she is now almost 4 and doesn't do it. however sometimes she will smack herself in her face, but I think she is just wanting me to love on her after I get on to her. If he is leaving marks I would call his dr. though because something else could be going on. better safe than sorry

My son does the same thing a was hoping it is a phase he will grow out of he is only 18 months. sometimes i have to stop him from hitting his head on the wall i was afraid he will do damage before this phase will pass. i saw a toddler doing the same thing on teen mom so i just that that it was normal.

my oldest does it sometimes. i just till him lets not do that. we don't want to hurt are selfs. know my youngest does it buts he does it for other raises cause his austic and sensory processing disorder. i would just try to keep talking to him and make sure his not watching any shows that show hitting or anything like that. hope that helps.
