Okay here it is ever since 1 year ago when my ex moved out my son wont sleep in his bed. He is very advanced if he cant open the gate he will cllimb over etc etc. I live with myself and my grandfather. My grandfather always allows him in his bed, he is defietly a poppops boy. Anyway anytime i try to put him in his bed he will wake up around 11 screaming. Now i have no tv in his room or night lights. I had a nightlight but he would just go out the room. Anyway since a year ago he loves tv and im sure thats what keeps him up. Its 12:15 am n he is up in my grandfathers room I know i cant lock him in his room but seriously somethings gotta give. Putting the gate up makes him not go to the bathroom at night. hes been pottied trained since he was 1. He starts preschool next week, i want him to go to bed around 7 and fall asleep by 8. Get up by 7 or 8. And i put him in bed at 730 every night (remember he wont sleep in his room i dont have money to give him treats or nothing special) and he wakes up at 10 am! this is rediculous please help.. I cant even have me time in my room. He will always wake up at night.

My grandfather doesnt like to hear him cry either, i know that. I dont want to hurt anyones feelings saying he cant sleep in there. I mean it wouldnt be a issue if he slept early but that wont happen...

the main thing is to keep telling him that he has to sleep in HIS bed and dont take no for an answer he will cry but its for his own good and believe me i do know how hard it can be to sit and listen but you have to do it for every1s sanity :)

my son is 2.5 and has his bouts of sleeping thru and then not we usually have him have quiet time about 30 mins before bed and if he crashes we put him in his bed asleep but if not i tell him 10 more minutes of cuddles n then bed, this usually results in an additional 20 min of the very repetitive putting him back into his own bed, when he does wake at night its the same thing pick him up and put him back, you could try rewards and they dont hafta cost u a thing make a chart out of scrap paper and make the stars out of cardboard the reward could be his fav dinner if he stays in bed for the night, and once he progresses make him a toy or game or take him to a park or something but both you and grandfather hafta keep on the same page!

good luck....
