I live in the state of Missouri. My daughter was at her aunts, and got taken from there by her father. Here, unless i have state papers from the court, the police, the law can not help me. It has been 23 days. I have paid $2,500.00 for a lawyer and they go to court next Thursday. I miss my daughter. I fell lost with out her. I have been a single mom for the past three years. She is three years old, and cant wait for her to get home.

Valarie....it sounds as though you & the Father have/had a "verbal agreement" of some sort??? And he took advantage??

Smart to hire the attorney. Worth the money. I agree with cadence about the full custody. If the father was so bold to do such a thing have the attorney bring the possibility of "flight risk." The attorney will know what that means. ;o)

In the meantime, my prayers are with you and I wish you all the best. Please keep us posted!

In Missouri the father can't take the child from a relative or friend of the mother's. If it were the father's family its a different story.

I have been a single mom for three years, and all good and bad have been great. Me and my daughter are now moving back home, to our home town. We will be near family, friends and love. Of course we will be doing every other weekend.

I have had child support orders for the past year and have received $100.00 total. They have not done anything about it, but we have also not been to court before. I have had an agreement with him that I would not denies him seeing his daughter because of money, but that does not mean it is any less important. ..Hopefully when we go to court something will be done about that, and the court fees and lawyer fees will be included.

Even though he does not have a job you need to press him for every penny of child support that you possibly can, through the court system. This may be the only way you can get anything from him.

Valarie...positive thoughts going your way! Hang in there & yes, the waiting is the most difficult part I am sure! Just keep thinking by this time next week you will most likely have your daughter back where she belongs. At home with her Mom.

Take care! :o)

No. He does not have a job, and will not leave her anywhere, with anyone, because he knows I will get her back. I do know where she is most of the time. I have the police do child wellness checks often. I have hired a lawyer and filed for full and so on. But there is still the wait. I still fell like this law needs to be looked at. .
