my son is 19 months now but he's only 18 pounds in weight... is he underweight?

height also changes things. For example, if your child is tall and slightly heavier than "normal" for his age, it is fine. That is why i explained that my daughter is at 10th percentile for both. If she was "normal height" and at 10 % for weight there is a concern.

Google the world health organization charts to see what average is. I don't know what your suppose to be at for the child's size but my 12 month old is 25 pounds!

if he's 19 months didn't he just go to the doctor at 18 months? If so did the doctor tell you he was underweight. If not then i doubt he is. But i have a 27 month old who's only 23 pounds. She's small but healthy. She's always been small always has been.(shes at 10 percentile for her age for weight and height) If you havn't noticed a weight loss then don't worry about it. Although he sounds like he might be small. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be small. If your concerned call a doctor.
