My son is 2years and 7months and when he wakes in the mornings his nappys are dry. Is it time to start potty training?

I would start introducing it. When he wakes up in the mornings have him sit on the potty to try to go. Give him a little bit of time to try, but don't push it. If he goes make a big deal out of it. If he does not biggie.

At first I would just start with having him sit and try to go in the mornings when he gets up and before bath or bedtime. After awhile you could add in trying before and after nap.

As he starts to get more consistant at going and more interested in it then I would start working on going inbetween those times. I find that having a routine to your day helps. If he eats around the same time each day then you can have him sit and try to go potty around a certain time each day. At first I am taking them to the bathroom and having them try. After they get consistant at staying dry then I work on them telling me when they need to go.

I agree wiht Sarah that is one of the huges cues that shows the child is ready to start introducing! Hope the best!
