My daughter didn't walk till she was 14 months old, she also didn't crawl in the traditional sense till she was 14 months old. She also wasn't talking and we had her evaluated at 18 months old but because her comprehension was so high she didn't qualify for services. She's now 3 and perfectly fine, give your son some time if you are still concerned in a few months schedule an appointment with your pediatrician.

Different babies develop at different ages. My sister only started walking at 18 months, but she was talking up a storm. My nephew didn't do ANYTHING until he was 14 months (he just clung to his mom with wide eyes ALL THE TIME) and he hasn't stopped moving or talking since (he's 8 years old now). Don't worry. Another 2-4 months, and you won't believe the changes!

My daughter is 13.5 months. On her birthday she didn't say any words and wouldn't even really cruise much. One day a month later she suddenly started saying a few words and she's currently cruising up a storm (I didn't walk until 14 months my mother told me so I'm not worried about this...although it would be nice not to have to carry her everywhere! :)) All that to say - kids develop at their own pace. Give him time. Unless your mommy gut really thinks that something is wrong, I'd say just keep loving on him and let him grow as he's ready.

Yeah my son knew the alphabet before his sister was talking so I know what you mean, but each child is different. My son is very smart but not coordinated, his 3 year old sister is more cordinated than him. They each have their strengths and weaknesses just give it time.

Thanks for sharing that with me. I guess I'm just concerned because his sister was a fireball. I mean she did everything really really early and continues to do so. So this is so different from our first experience. Thanks again.
