My toddler has sensitive skin and won't keep her hat or sunglasses on.

My daughter was so good last year about wearing a hat and sunglasses. We even taught her how to sign "hat" and "glasses". She loved it. But this year, she won't keep glasses or a hat on. I've tried taking her to the store and letting her go through the hats and picking one. When we got home, she wouldn't even go near it. I've tried telling her how pretty she is in a hat, and why she needs to wear a hat. I wear my hat, and get my husband to wear a hat too. But nothing has worked. Any suggestions? She has really sensitive skin and should wear both, but I can't get her to even put them on anymore. Help!

Wear a hat and glasses yourself. If she sees you doing it, she'll want to be like you and wear hers.

my son wont wear them either and he is pretty fair and has red hair. i just make sure to put sunscreen on him thoroughly and limit the amount of time he spends in the sun to no more than 30-45 minutes at a time

My son won't wear a hat or glasses either. I just put sunscreen on him and away we go. :)

With my son. He would take it off and scream and cryed if I put them on him. So I wouldn't say anything I would just put them back on him. He would take them off and I would put them back. After he gave up and left them on. I would let him outside. But we where not to go out with out them. I had to do this for a little while but he caught on and now when we to to leave I put them on him and he leaves them on. If his hat falls off he signs hat or sayes hat and gives it to me to put it back on him.

Her head probably gets really hot, my son won't keep a hat on either and I can't get him to keep on sunglasses for very long. I'm pretty sure toddlers body temp is hotter than ours, their metabolism is faster, they are more active....and all that heat has to get released somewhere- the head.

I would get a leave in conditioner with sunscreen in it for now, to protect her head.

I've been just spraying my son's head with the sunscreen since his hair is short right now, and making sure he has sunscreen on before we go out.

Can't do much about the hat, but have you tried different color sunglasses? My son only likes his blue tinted "Cars" themed ones, but as soon as he gets a little sweaty under them, he chucks them.
