My sons is 20 months old and has violent night terrors. His neurologist says there is nothing he can do but he really didn't give me any helpful tips either. He does have a very bad speech delay and he is violent when he is awake due to his inability to talk. He gets very frustrated with himself and tries to hurt himself due to not being able to communicate. I am afraid when he is has a bad night that he will seriously hurt himself in his crib. I don't have bunpers or pads up because that is said to be dangerous but he thrashes around so much I am afraid he will really hurt himself. I typically take him outside to get him to calm down. But it is like holding a fighting fish carrying him outside I am worried for him.

Hi Christina that sounds really bad. Is there any way you can visit a different neurologist who can help you in a better way. Any possibility to Co sleep. Just a suggestion so you aren't worried about him hurting himself. Sorry no real advise. Hope he gets better soon.
