I have a 2 1/2 year old girl, who when around other people says "I need to go potty", but when it is just us dose not let me know when she needs to go. How do I handle this & when I do take her to the potty how long schould I wait before I say "ok youre done"?

I took my daughter and son every hour on the dot. I would ask if they needed to go, they would say "no" but i would say "okay let' be a big girl or big boy and try to go for mommy". I would sit them on the potty(i used pull ups at this point) tell them if they go pee or poop for mommy that they would get 2 m&ms or whatever it is that you want to give them for going potty. It's not fun getting up every hour but I would do it when it's just you and her. When she telling other people she has to go potty, don't let them take her to go, you ask her again "do you need to go potty like a big girl" see if she answers you by saying yes, if she says no, just still take her in their. Did you buy the potty seat that sits on the floor?

My daughter turned 3 march 31st. She has recently been having accidents. She will go pee on the potty all through the day but has started peeing in her bed at night time. I think that if you just keep praising her, telling her she is a big girl when she pees/poop on the potty that it will help her when she is just with you. My daughter still gets excited and says "mommy I go pee in potty, I big girl" so I think it will help. Are you and her father tall?
