ok, so I think I asked this one before and accidentally deleted it without reading the answer..... so here it is. My son is 3 1/2 and after 8 months of training - he will still NOT go poop in the toilet! He was pee trained in 1 week (day and night), but this pooping thing is really getting old! He poops just a little bit in his pants and then you bring him to the toilet and he says he is done, so he does this 6+ times a day because he never completely goes. PLEASE help me - I am going crazy with not knowing what to do :-(

the stickers for a reward has just convinced my youngest to go to the toilet, hes 3 in 3 weeks and for the last week we have had him going to the toilet and no accidents.

good luck

you will need to word this different as not to scare him but tell him the toilet is hungry for poop. you could also make a big deal about waving good bye to his/your poop (if he is in the room) before you flush it away. I think there is also a book called "everyone poops" hope some of this helps, my son just started pooping on the toilet, before that he would only poop in his bath. I just keep letting him know where the poop was to go.

i have a 3 1/2 year old girl who also wont do a poo on toilet and he starts nursery this week. she will either poo in her pants or ask me to put a nappy on her. she started using the toilet last december but still struggling with this one too.

so i cant offer advice. My daughter is only 21 months so just starting training for us. Maybe try to offer a reward if he goes? If he goes so many times you will take him to the store to pick out a toy. Or offer stickers for every time he goes. Make a chart and when he does a whole week ( or a day to start with) then give him a treat or something. I know it has worked for some. good luck
