My daughter turned 2 sept. 16th and i am trying to potty train her. She will take her diper off when she has to go and pee on the floor even if she is right next to her potty... i have told he repetedly that she is supposed to potty in her potty and i also give her treats if she does go in her potty but she still is reluctant... Any idea's on how to get he to go in her potty all the time???

My almost 2 year old is doing something very similar. Taking off her diaper & then will pee or poop right next to the potty. Something that we forget as adults is that children at this age are most used to peeing & pooping while standing up. They have to learn how to do it sitting down. I totally agree on using books or toys as a way to get her to sit & stay awhile! LOL

Something that helps my little girl is that we have two little potties. One is for her to sit on & the other one is for her dolls to sit on. I sanitize the potties after they are used & they go through the dishwasher (alone) nightly almost to make sure they are clean since she likes to play w. them SO much. Have some "only potty" toys. Another great way is to use the TV, if you are comfortable w. that. My daughter will sit on the potty through almost an entire episode of her favorite cartoon. That has been when we've caught the most pees.

When she has pooped on the floor, I will pick up the poop & put it in her potty chair & show her that is where poop goes. We do this over & over & over. I'm not a pushy mommy, so when she has a few accidents we put her diaper back on & wait a few hours to try again. I also remind her to sit on the potty every 5-10 minutes. It helps to have it available always. We do our potty learning in the livingroom, because honestly...that is where she pees/poops in her diaper anyways! We'll figure out the bathroom part another time!

Good luck!

My daughter loves putting her doll on her little potty. For Chrismas my fiance and I order ELMO potty doll. My daughter is potty trainging right now and have a few accidents but after we shown her with the doll how to potty train She loves it and has been soo good potty training right now *cross fingers* hope it stays this way and she gets out of her diapy soon!

I hope this help and GOOD LUCK♥

Does she like books? I give my 2 y/o books to read while she is sitting on the potty. If you see her starting to take her diaper off, take her to the potty right away and give her a book as a distraction, or some other toy. Maybe that will help?
