My daughter is 20 months old and when she poops in her diaper she tells me and when she pees she takes it off and gets me another one. Do you think she is ready to potty train?? My son, 3 year old, just potty trained before his 3rd b-day so I'm not sure on this one.... HELP

thank you.... I didn't really like the pull ups with my son b/c he was just confused b/c it's so much like diapers. So I just used underwear...yes I had to clean them out but it was worth him not getting so confused. I think I might give it a go and maybe she is ready... thank you for all your replies

I think "the experts" say that a child can be potty trained from about 18 months to 4 years, i personally think it all depends on the child, about a month ago my youngest kadie had chicken pox and they were really really bad around the nappy area so I kept her nappies off in the day time to try and make it all less painfull for her. anyway in a whole week I managed it get her on the potty 3 times. Now she hates her nappy on so I thought I'd give it another go, last week we spent anytime in the house nappyless and then when we was out of the house I used pull ups (I think pull ups are confusing for them and personally hate them) over the weekend I introduced underwear Which she had a fee accidents in, this week we have compleatly band pull up and only a bed time nappy, she is doing fab Monday just two accident and today just one, hopefully we might have a dry day tomorrow. I'm very proud and she's doing well :)

Just thought I would share my experience good luck.

Thanks... I just didn't know if I should b/c my son was almost 3 when he was finally trained. But I have heard that girls were easier to train than boys....

Thanks so much

I'd give it a go, if it's not the right time then just try again in another few months. My oldest was potty trained by 20 months, my middle one a week after she turned 2 and my youngest were doing it now at 23 months. Good luck :)
