So I decided to give potty training my 26 month old a go since she likes to rip off her diaper lots or shows me what is inside... last week i spent a whole day doing the wear her panties and every couple of minutes sit her down and when she went pee pee she got a sticker. she liked that idea. it went ok! but i am not completely potty trained her because sometimes i have to go somewhere ect.... then i am afraid she will have an accident when we are out.

but my question is when we are home i do let her run around in her panties and sometimes she will go pee one after another after another over and over again! i dont know if it is a normal thing they do in the beginning or what? i would think once is enough!

Jennifer- My daughter didnt start to take off her diaper until about a month ago or a little more than a month ago. She wasnt as young as yours. But maybe if yours is showing that she doesnt want to wear it give it a try! i have almost 15 month old and i would say she is not ready at all!

Now what i have been doing is just if I am home all day put her in her panties and sometimes I need to remind her "do you need to use the potty?" or i encourage her to....and say it in an exciting voice..."potty time!!!" and then she goes to use it. but there is also times she goes and sits on it herself. but there is also times where she is just sitting watching tv and pittles in her panties. i think its because she is lazy and doesnt want to leave the tv..... ahahhah

so now i have to get over her being lazy and just want her to go to use the potty and not pee when i want her to or when she thinks its fun! when i go out i will put a diaper on because i dont think she is quittte ready. but when i take it off when i get home there is either none or very little.

Did it work Sarah . My 1 and half year old keeps taking her nappy off. Try potty and she just try's to stand in it or squeeze n sit in it. Dunno if she's goin through a stage or actually ready for potty.

She definitely sounds ready but the method I used which worked amazingly with only about 2 accidents was to choose a week where you rarely have to leave the house or a weekend with a few days off one side so you can focus and stay at home to avoid confusion for them. I never put my son in pants he walked around naked because the times I put pants on him he thought it was a nappy so I just kept it simple and each time he looked like he needed the toilet I'd sit him in the potty or if he hadn't been in a while and when he did use the potty I'd give him a very over exaggerated praise and clap and anyone else in the house would then gradually I'd put his pants on znd he would realise it would be easier to use the potty and get praise than have none and wet pants! Hope it all works out well and good luck :) xx

When I started potty training my son..he did good when we were out. One day we walked up to the park a couple blocks from my house, we were there 5 min and he said he had to pee. He was looking for a potty there but there arent any. I told him we are gonna have to go home and pee. I thought for sure he was going to have an accident , but he didnt he held it till we got home and pee'd on the potty. Sometime they will suprise you. As katherine said just bring a change of clothes in case of an accident.

Sounds like she's ready to me! If she has an accident bring extra clothes. Doesn't sound like she will though. The only way to find out is to take her out.
