My daughter will be 2 in aug and i think she is ready to start on potty training. She loves to sit on her potty chair but she has NEVER went in the potty chair. she takes her diapers off when she pees or poops in them or she will grab on them and say pee or poop. She always tells me that she peed or pooped after she has done it.. How do i know when she has to go to the potty ? How many times a day should i put her on the potty ? Should i put her in big girl undies and explain to her that she needs to use the potty to be a big girl ? Im just not sure on what to do im a first time mommy and i need help ! Thank you for helping =)

I am going to go the underwear route. My friend used it with her two kids (a girl and a boy) and they were trained within a week. Basically, I am going to have a potty nearby at all times, put him in underwear and just frequently ask him if he needs to go. Every two hours or so I will sit him on it and tell him to try. I have hardwood floors so messes will be easy for me to clean up. I don't want to use pull-ups because I feel that they are a waste of money and prolong the potty training. Just my opinion though. Also, the potty we are using is not a fun cars theme or plays music. I don't want him to think of the potty as a toy.
