I'm on day 2 of the training in 3 days program and not having any success. Lilly is willing to get in the potty and does a pretty good job of sitting, but just simply doesn't go. Finally when she and I have had enough of the sitting she of course will gave an accident. I am pretty sure she does not know when she has to go. My guessing every 20-30 minutes just isn't working. I need advice!!!

My daughter is 2 and he have been potty training since she was one and we dont expect her to be potty trained till almost 3. Its never just a 3 day thing because every child is different and stubborn lol like my daughter she knows what the potty is for that she needs to tell me and wipe pretty much everything about going to the potty but she just doesnt want to do it.

What i did was say oh mommy has to pee or poop and act all silly while holding either my front or back to show which one i had to do and i would run to the bathroom and of course she would fallow. IT may sound gross and tmi but anything to do with toddlers and messy go hand in hand but I let her watch me go. It may get messy but let her run around half naked and when she has an accident and she will tell her pee pee did you pee pee you basically have to put a name and feeling with the action same with poop if she poops in her diaper just poop poop did you poop and let her see it again putting a name with the action. it helps if you can tell if she is going my daugther use to crouch and grunt so i knew lol.

THE MAIN THING IS IT NEVER HAPPENS OVER NIGHT
DONT GET FRUSTRATED
IF SHE GOES MAKE A HUGE DEAL OF IT SING DANCE ACT SILLY
LET HER WATCH YOU PEE PEE
TAKE HER OFTEN BUT NOT TO MUCH SHE MIGHT GET FRUSTRATED AND RESENT THE POTTY (HAPPENED TO US)
TRY WORKING ON IT FREQUENTLY ONE DAY THEN HALF THE NEXT DAY

I hope i have helped with my story and advice please let me know if i can help in any way good luck so much love to you mama

Sounds like she is not ready yet. I don't like those short so many day potty training programs as most of the time they don't work. Potty training is a process just like learning how to walk, crawl, read, write, etc. it takes time. If she is ok with sitting on the potty then just start slowly. Have her sit before nap and before bedtime/bathtime. If she goes great! Give her a reward.....I like to do m&m's (1 for pee and 2 for poop). If she does not go no big deal. She can try again next time. As she becomes more ready to train she will start to go more often when she sits. Then start adding in sitting when she gets up in the morning and after nap. Again just like reading....you have to first learn your letters and then their sounds and then you can put it all together and make words.
