He is 4 1/2. Fruit? Nope (except freeze dried banana chips). Vegetables? Nope. Legumes? Nope. His list is this: pasta with "red sauce", mac n cheese, toast and bread (no crust allowed), bacon, patty sausage (though now he is say it's too spicy), some meat (rib eye & tri tip—chicken was a go to, but now he says "Nah"), vanilla ice cream in a flat bottom cone, and cheerios. He drinks milk, water, and unsweetened juice. He is healthy aside from some pollen allergies and growing normally (he is actually big for his age—tall and strong, minimal body fat). His refusal to expand his culinary horizons is driving me BATTY!
Help, advice, suggestions?

Thanks,

Dr. Bee

That is a struggle for us as well. He wants to get up and run around during the meal, between bites, whenever. I don't want to force him, but I do want him to expand his horizons. Thanks for the feedback!

Best,

Dr. Bee

The only thing I can suggest is keep putting it on his plate. The rule at our house is you have to take at least 3 bites out of everything before you can leave it on your plate. However my kids are not very picky so not normally a fight. Our fight is getting her to stay in her chair long enough to finish what she has been given
