I plan to get a scooter for my daughter for her 3rd birthday. I'm looking for advice on what to get. From the research i have done online, it appears that people are happiest with the three wheeled scooters that have two wheels in the front rather than the back. There are great reviews for the Mini Micro Kick Scooter but it is $85 minimum and that was more than I planned to spend. The Radio Flyer My First Scooter has decent reviews, but some say it doesn't turn well. I can't find any reviews for the Razor Kix Scooter. Anyone have input on this subject?

Our kids have the Kickboard scooters. We have one of the really small ones (the Mini Kick) and one for older kids (Maxi Micro with the T handle). They're really good scooters. They are worth the money. We don't have a car and often take scooters when the kids have to walk far. $85 might seem like a lot, but a three year year old could get three years of use out of a kickboard scooter and it will have resale value used.

I looked up the The Razor Kixi Kix Scooter. There was one review on Amazon that claimed it was junk... and to be completely honest, it doesn't look very well made from the pictures. However, if you look up the Kixi Scribble there are fifteen reviews for that and it seems to be the same scooter but with a chalk think on the back.

The Kixi Scribble reviews look good, but if you read through them most people are buying them for 2 and 3 year olds. Nobody mentioned a five or six year old using it, and one reviewer said they they bought their's at Target for $17. My sense is that it's probably a scooter aimed at toddlers and very young preschoolers and that it isn't built to last like a Kickboard.

Hi Alison, what did you opt for in the end?

We got our son a Mini Micro three wheeler http://www.micro-scooters.co.uk/scooters... a while back and it's great. He loves it but he's starting to outgrow it, we're thinking of upgrading to a bigger two wheeler. We'd be interested to see what people think of the other brands.
