My two and a half year old take hours to finally fall asleep at night. Any suggestions out there? We have a routine, 8pm bedtime, brush teeth, read a couple short stories then lights out. We made the transition to a toddler bed January 1st, so it it's been almost two months, but she still won't fall asleep or stay in bed unless we are in the room......and it takes anywhere from 1 1/2-3 hours. Plus then she is up 2-3 times in the night, which makes for a very tired mommy and non rested toddler. I feel like she isn't getting the amount of sleep that is required.....what can I do??

How was she sleeping in her crib? It might be she isn't liking her new toddler bed. Does she still take naps? I know my 3 year old isn't taking naps anymore so by 7-7:30pm he is sleeping for the night gets up once in the night to pee then right back to sleep.
See if you take away her nap time and move up her bed time and maybe she might settle.
